Matcha is finely ground green tea made from shade-grown baby tea leaves, known as Tencha(stems and veins removed).
Before harvest, the tea plants are shaded from sunlight, encouraging the leaves to produce more chlorophyll, giving matcha its vibrant green colour and rich umami flavour. Shading also helps retain L-theanine, supporting calm energy and reduced jitters. The tencha leaves are then stone-ground into a fine powder.
When whisked with water or milk, you drink the entire leaf, not just an infusion! Unlike green tea, known as Sencha, which is unshaded and steeped (then discarded). Meaninggg...matcha delivers more flavour and more benefits!
Where is your matcha sourced from?
Our matcha is sourced from two separate tea farms in the region of Shizuoka, Japan!
Every month, our products are directly air-flown from Japan to Malaysia within two weeks of production.
Are there any health benefits of Matcha?
Absolutely! Matcha is packed with antioxidants (especially EGCG), and it gives you a calm, steady energy thanks to L-theanine, an amino acid shown to support focus and calm while balancing caffeine. It’s less jittery than coffee and easy to enjoy daily when it’s high quality :)
How should matcha be stored and how long does it last?
Unopened: Store at room temperature, away from heat, sunlight and humidity.
Opened: Seal tightly and store in a cool, dry place (refrigerator recommended!) to preserve freshness and quality ♡
With proper storage conditions, matcha should last up to 1 year from production date or up to 2 years when refrigerated.
